What is Parquet Expansion Space and Maximum Application Area?

Expansion Space Parquet?

Expansion Space Parquet?

Although drying in outdoors, drying in precise ovens and 3 layered structures minimize the natural working of massive, massive leaves shall expand because effect of relative humidity in air and shall lose water in dry airs and shrink. For permitting this inevitable natural reaction, there should be gap between elements such as walls, doorsteps, radiator pipes door stoppers etc. and the parquet.

This gap should be Area width(MT)X1,5 mm. from all walls and minimum gap should be 10 mm. Expansion gaps can be covered with skirting, transition profiles and special covering rings. Skirting shall never be installed over parquets. Maximum application area in regular rectangular shaped places shall not be greater than 200 m2. However, in addition to this; segmental application instead of single area should be done in areas whose with is greater than 10 mt. and length is greater than 20 mt.

Although this rule is applied in corridors and similar places where are divided into small triangles and rectangle by surrounding rooms; there can be more deformation in small corners. Best way to prevent this situation is to divide these places into independent regular areas or applying sticking to the ground.
